This is the end of the road for the Southern Strategy of using bigoted Whites as a voting block.
At least on the National level.

The Republican Party will either go even harder with this strategy becoming more naked & wide-open with their bigotry or they will downplay maybe even shun those bigots from their party as they look for another reliable voting block.

The Democratic Party atoned for their centuries of evil starting with FDR/HST & then JFK/LBJ.
The Republican Party which once was represented by Lincoln embraced the evil that the Democratic Party discarded.

That evil is corrosive & poisonous. The Republican Party may not survive in the current climate backing that evil for so many decades.
It had to be purged one way or another & should have died out by the 1960s but they prolonged its life.
There may not BE a Republican Party because of it.

The Democratic Party saved itself with the policies of FDR/HST/JFK/LBJ.
They became a party for social & economic justice & carried the moral torch for the nation.
That's why they still exist.
The Republican Party at first waffled on this platform then outright rejected it.
They may not exist because of this.

It's gonna be interesting to see where the Republican Party goes after this defeat.
My guess is that the Libertarians take over & get reabsorbed into the fold.
Libertarians basically represent the Republicans BEFORE the Southern Strategy anyway.

But the party will begin changing after this election I bet money.
They got some MAJOR atoning to do for all of that evil.

It isn't impossible to see Romney doing 5% better than McCain with white voters.

It won't nearly be that easy.

The bigoted Whites like to complain that Black people by & large got behind Obama because he was Black.
But Blacks only make up 13% of the population.
Even IF we all 13% voted (which they didn't) we can't get nobody in office by ourselves.

It's the WHITE people who got Obama in office.
Those White people who are NOT bigots.
And because enough White people have checked or at least questioned the inherent mentality of White Supremacy in this country, McCain didn't get his 60% & neither will Romney.

Besides why don't the bigoted Whites admit that the only reason they voted for McCain & Romney is because they're White?
That bigoted contingent will lose even harder in 2012 than they did 2008.

After that is done they will have a choice:
Continue to hang onto these destructive bigoted beliefs
OR
Join the other White people who have rejected those bigoted beliefs

CHANGE is coming one way or another so like they told the dinosaurs Adapt or Die.
