Got this from a friend
"Annie and I came home from today's Travis County Democratic Convention (at the Hyatt - hoo
ha!) a bit perturbed. See, while he didn't win Texas, Bernie Sanders won the primary in Travis
County by a good margin: Bernie 74,068 to Hillary's 69,446. But you wouldn't know that from
the way the party leadership gave short thrift to Bernie supporters. when we arrived, they had
already published a list of all the committee members and chairs. Very few committee members
were Bernie people and none of the committee chairs were. Ronnie Dugger had pointed it out to
us before the convention formally began and we just fumed a bit. But, during the proceedings,
Danny Fetonte stood up to complain about it and Chairman Vince Harding claimed that he wasn't
aware of the lack of fairness but that they would try to do something about it. Then a bunch of
Bernie supporters left the room and went out into the Bernie corner of the hallway, where
Executive Director, JD Gins, took the blame for the discrepancies and said that they were being
corrected. But Bernie folks were not happy. Subsequently, committee members and
chairs were shuffled a bit but I doubt that the Bernie supporters ever got fair representation,
especially considering that Bernie was the big winner in the county. I suspect that these sorts of
shenanigans are going on across the country. Establishment Democrats have been out to prevent
Bernie from getting a fair shake since the beginning and they show no indication of any
inclination to change now. Here's a visual composite of the little uprising and the
leadership's attempt to mollify the dissenting Bernieites."

(10,170 posts)being sliced into so many districts is what lead to the Hillary imbalance. It isn't. Just a contributing factor.
Bernie folks were minimized and turnout was astoundingly weak because folks were told that the Texas two step was over so no need to go to the county convention however... the sign up for the convention was still what determined the delegates to State.
Not knowing this hurt the Sanders campaign delegate totals. Also SXSW and Spring Break hurt the turnout for the younger crowd. They took steps to rectify this somewhat, but not entirely.
Thumb on the scale for the party regulars who were mostly Hillary supporters.
On another strange note... I do not Facebook. After Mid January I quit getting local Sanders notices for no discernible reason. I only knew about the convention due to Clinton friends' comments. Anybody else get dropped?
