For some reason, the Barack Obama group doesn't want me. Owe-Kay... I have almost never posted in it.
But then why the ban? (edit: apperently I had unwittingly posted there once, yesterday.)
DU is going insane with this rampant abuse of block and alert: this is the division the other side is eager to sow. We can only hope that Sanders will bring us back together when he has won the nomination. Because Clinton would have an irrevocably divided party (courtesy of David Brock's operations and Debbie's shenanigans) and she would drag the whole ticket down in her fall.
Thank goodness even Sanders "underestimated our ability to bring people together" - as he said during his interview with Chris Hayes.

(31,935 posts)I'm surprised they got any attention at all. I guess some Hillary fans have nothing better to do than spend their days clicking that alert button. As if hiding posts on DU will help their uber conservative candidate win!

It's a BIG, wide, huge web out there...trying to shut down a voice here, on one site...well, there are thousands of other ways to speak out.

(28,791 posts)So if we cross reference the admins of that group with the admins of the group-that-shall-not-be-named-but-has-blocked-nearly-750-people, i wonder if any are the same?... Hmmmm
SoapBox
(18,791 posts)A "gentle" note to Skinner/Admin?
That it appears some are taking preemptive actions? Maybe find out if that is even possible by Forum hosts?
Maybe a house rule...a DUer can't be blocked if they have never even posted in a Group!

(4,805 posts)Hosts click on the post you made in their group and there is an option pops up to block the poster.

(7,231 posts)My appreciation for Barack Obama (the core business of that group) is very very limited. I respect that makes the group pretty much off limits to a proud gay man like myself.
Just maybe I have posted something in there in 2015, when the Supreme Court struck down DOMA?

(4,805 posts)ridiculous on the face of it. meh. don't sweat it. I just got blocked from HOF today and have been blocked from HRC for several months now.

(26,582 posts)You cannot be blocked from a group that you've never posted in. Probably perceived your replies as snarky in a thread from a DUer that's announcing he's dying from cancer.
You should talk to the host of you didn't mean to come across that way.
Betty Karlson
(7,231 posts)Forgiveness is totally snarky. Best let someone die without forgiving him / her, right?
Again: this place is going insane.
EDIT: by the way, how did you find that so quickly?
tammywammy
(26,582 posts)I put in your username and selected all replies and it popped up.
I can see how someone may have read your reply as snarky, but you clearly didn't intend it that way. You should appeal the ban with the hosts.

(4,695 posts)remembering such things as bankers in the administration and chaining Social Security. No one seems to remember the entire, yesterday, true speech of a former president, even claiming that the media did not cut out parts of the speech about the present leader of our country. Wow, what on Earth is going on here?
This place has gone off its rocker, spinning while rewriting history, throwing away facts and history as it turns. So glad to have my foot here; however they are coming in here now. I deleted a thread here yesterday as no one could help me out. Our host said I used the wrong source and could correct the OP. I ended it any way because I am on the Bern List.

The hosts of that one tend to be the sort who demand absolute, unwavering, total reverence of "Our leaders."
You're honestly not missing anything except a bunch of people slapping their own asses between posting pictures of the president and his family.

But I still feel that those who express true contrition should be forgiven, epecially when they have little time left. The ban was silly and vindictive.

(9,688 posts)One can't talk pros and cons of policy, there, especially where Pres. Obama is on point.
I always considered it another bit of internet stupidity, another bit of the flotsam that's kinda inevitable.

(1,898 posts)It was the Hillary group. I had the AUDACITY to point out, in response to a thread, a couple of inconvenient truths. My crime? The point of the thread was to dismiss Sanders' chances of winning because he would need to win by a landslide. I replied that he just did that in Idaho and Utah.
Did I lie? Did I dissemble? Did I abuse? Here's the highly offensive exchange. This HRC supporter can't handle a little truth.
