Yes! In the meantime Bernie would have come closest because he speaks for the Earth

(11,945 posts)1. I hope Bernie has seen this.
I suspect he may still need his spirits lifted. The memories of all the lives he touched over the past year and a half, especially those of a people with little power, little voice in anything, who have always resonated with the very things he cares about, have got to be healing.
Thanks again, Donkees.

64 he was the best I ever saw. Hope this country can hang till the next one.

to shape the future.

We missed a real opportunity.

(31,381 posts)8. "If we rescue the original meaning of the word opportunity..."
Excerpt:
The definition we have today for the word opportunity is considerably different from its etymological origin. It lacks the existential depth and transformational power of its original version.
...If we rescue the original meaning of the word opportunity, we will realize that we are the opportunity we were waiting for. Thus, we can assume full responsibility for our actions and start building the future we really want. Sure the unexpected will happen; but, if we are responsible, we will seize it when it favors our purposes and turn it around when it does not.
The etymology of the word opportunity helps us realize that our best shot at success is to become the best thing that ever happened to us. We become our best opportunity by deciding who we want to be and what we want to achieve.
