(36,988 posts)but I have some issues with her.
1. She broke through the picket line against union labor during the Hollywood strikes
2. She is a confirmed vegan but owns a Brazilian leather shoe company
3. In the interview with Bernie she was concerned about her taxes being raised by Bernie.
There is a lot to admire about her

(3,795 posts)She was talking about how hard she worked for it. Yadda yadda yadda.
That's speaking Republicanese.
She lives very, very, very extravagantly, and she will continue to do so even if her marginal tax rates, capital gains tax rates, and social security taxes are raised. I am not saying she doesn't deserve to be wealthy. At all. I'm saying that even if her taxes get raised, she will STILL be very wealthy and she will still continue to have access to a very extravagant lifestyle.
The alternative to raising taxes on those in her income and wealth bracket is for the vast majority to give up even more than they already have over the past 3 to 4 decades. The consequences of doing that will be dire for many people and certainly catastrophic for some.
