Sigh.
Ok, they want loyalty oaths. I'm willing to unite with all other Sanders supporters. We can all vote to keep Capitalism going but with drastic changes that will help the drowning working class. It's not my first choice - I'd prefer a socialist society - but I understand compromise and want to unite. I wonder how many on DU are willing to unite with the same goal: elect Bernie Sanders?

We'd probably be ousted anyway.

(32,017 posts)I figure I may need a new place to hang out. I don't understand the format and I keep getting error messages. But I will make it work. Who knows - maybe when I get used to it I will like it better!
That's where I stole my little avatar.
Plus, they'll be the ones rallying the Millennials. Those old foggies over in GD-P are too busy mocking younger voters to realize what may hit them if we can get the Millennials out to vote.
I'm an Gen Xer. My oldest child is at the very end of the Millennial generation. He's not old enough to vote (and won't be in time for the primary or the general), but many of his friends are and they LOVE Bernie. My son didn't even know Hillary was running coz no one ever talks about her.

(32,017 posts)I am a Gen-ex'er too but my kids are younger (I had a career first) - born in this century. We are not leaving them much of a planet.
I figure between Twitter and Reddit I should be able to find folks who are truly like-minded.

I also want to leave them an actual world to live in and a government who works for them, not the 1 percent.

(44,986 posts)whomever wins the primary. Which is a nice sentiment, we have been doing for years. It doesn't seem to be working all that well for many of us. "Vote for me I'm not as bad as the other guy" has been awesome for the democratic politicians but seems to be losing it's punch with some Democrats. That might be because when you see some eating steak and champagne and the members of the democratic party toss you a bone with all the meat carefully trimmed off you might just realize that you are getting screwed. I might not have anyplace else to go , but by the same token I don't have to go anywhere either.

(32,017 posts)we have 96 days until Iowa. I think the Clinton Camp wants this nailed down well before then. But I truly have no interest in voting for the less of 2 evils.
There are a lot of really good folks lurking on this website who have trusted this party over and over - as it gets worse and worse in this country. It is so frustrating.

(41,600 posts)after staying away from this place for 4 (?) years, some old members I would never have thought would NOT be supporting Bernie! I shouldn't name them, but they've been here from day one and KNOW what is going down in our government, but support Hillary??? It's quite shocking to me and one is quite rabid toward Bernie supporters. I never would have seen it coming from her. I just don't get it.
I'm just attributing it to their wealth? Their Wall St. Job? Government job? Greed? Being female and wanting a female President?
Whatever their reasons, it's bizarre!
I didn't bother reading Skinner's post. I ignore most Hillary supporter's posts. They bore me.
No loyalty oath from me! I will NOT vote for that woman. Period. I'll just leave DU again. It's really not the same as it use to be anyway. The atmosphere is not good.
I'm going to try Reddit again too. It's a good place for Bernie supporters! That's where my Bernie supporting son hangs out.

(11,366 posts)And such a breath of fresh air from here.
At that site there are actual Millennials organizing, brainstorming and informing others. They are young, high-energy and have technical skills to build apps and websites to help other Millennials register to vote, understand the process and even get a ride to the polls.
It shocked me today when retrowire posted his "There's A Lot of Me" thread and mocking he received because of his age (27) and that he'd never trusted or cared for a politician enough to vote before. They pilloried young people on that thread. Yes... I know that younger people traditionally don't show up as much as older people, but they got a taste of what to do to win with Obama and, in my opinion, they like Bernie even more.
But it showed me that DU skews a bit older and old-fashioned in their beliefs and how they view politics. Many of them honestly do not get how social media and the Internet is changing voting. They get that over on Reddit.
Just read the thread. SMH: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251734059
I'm just about to the point where I think these young people are going to sneak up on the political establishment in January and February and smack them straight in the head with a 2X4.
BTW, My little Bernie Snoo in my sig line was "borrowed" from /r/SandersforPresident.

(44,986 posts)Yeah the party has a real problem. There is no trust, no enthusiasm and that loyalty that so many of us had towards democrats is gone.
