Looking at "trending topics", it's all the more obvious why Bernie is surging.

Here, twitter, everywhere. Bernie and supporters are talking about issues, policies that will help people's lives. Healthcare, free college, etc.

And the anti-Bernie people? When they're not talking about how we can't have anything better than the pre-Trump world (which brought us Trump, as Andrew Yang points out), they're talking about whether a video that was made by a guy who made another video that got retweeted was racist.

Now say you're a voter. Maybe without health insurance. Maybe with college debt. Worried about the climate. Wanting to protect and expand Social Security.

Anyone think that voter is going to care to dive through the tweet threads and videos to figure out how offended they should be about some parody video using MLK's speech to show how video can be manipulated? Is there even one voter in that category?

Like someone's going to think, gee, I have all this student debt, and the climate is reaching a point of no return. But, what I really need to figure out is: where's the line between humor and offensiveness that parody videos from ten years ago aren't supposed to cross.

At the end of the day, people don't care some subcontractor's Twitter history from 10 years ago when they have medical bills, student loan payments, rent due, etc.

crapping on Bernie every day completely give Bloomberg, an actual GOP voter and fundraiser at the highest levels, a complete pass.

Refusing to address bread and butter topics is always a mistake for any Dem candidate.

share great esteem for a right - winger like Michael Bloomberg ………….A guy who still believes the Iraq War was a good idea and has never supported an increase in the minimum wage .. Do we need 2 Conservative Parties in America ? ,,,One is a God's plenty, so far as I'm concerned …..

We can't use Twitter activity as a reliable gauge of public sentiment. Or to put it another way, Twitter is not real life.

Thats exactly my issue with most of the candidates, they talk about Trump, they talk about essentially rolling the clock back, very few have a vision for moving forward. Things are abysmal now, but they haven't been good for a while. The ACA while an attempt to move in the right direction, didn't do nearly enough. Climate change is a concern that very few are taking seriously enough. Yes this admin has made it worse but just rolling back to pre-Trump isn't enough. What difference does it make if we only are making it a little worse instead of a lot worse we still our dead either way. I personally believe unless we get someone strong to run, first a lot of people aren't going to show up. There is a good chunk of the population that doesn't pay very much attention and unless they feel inspired they aren't going to go to the polls. It's harder to get people to show up for "Hey your life will still suck, just not as bad, and we are better than Trump" We know election fraud from the R's is going to be at a all time high and unless we can motivate, inspire and give hope to the the public, its going to be even harder to win.
