The Biden folks really seem to be getting nervous when they have to resort to stuff like this. Bernie has consistently applauded politicians from both ends of the spectrum who advocate for the working class. This does not mean he supported Wallace's racism. Nice try though. This will only galvanize Bernie's base even further; just like Warren's failed attempt to label Bernie a sexist. I can't wait to tell you guys to "Vote Blue No Matter Who!"

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Tuesday night that he still does not consider himself a Democrat despite taking part in a Democratic National Committee (DNC) unity tour with the party's new chairman, Tom Perez.

"No, I'm an Independent," Sanders said when asked by MSNBC's Chris Hayes whether he now identifies as a Democrat.

Sure you're on the right board?

But can you remind me how long ago the MLK march was that Bernie brings up as cred for his being progressive?

Here's the question again, in case you missed it the first time.

And Sanders certainly wants CREDIT for on "Marching with MLK..." and the civil rights activism that ended after college when he moved to rural Vermont...

Remind me, how long ago was that?

Didn't think you'd want to go there after you brought "47 years ago" into the discussion as being too long ago to be relevant..

You said:

So do we judge our candidates on every decision that they ever made, including some from 47 years ago?

And I asked how long ago the MLK march was that Bernie brings up often as cred for being progressive.

I can see this is very uncomfortable for you, so I'll give you a hint.

It was 56 years ago.

I suppose you will scold anyone who brings that up that as being too long ago to judge him on?

When something unflattering is brought up about his record or statements, it's always, "that was so long ago, it's not relevant."

But the progressive bona fide presented about him whenever his social justice record or statements are critcized is, "He marched with MLK" and "he was arrested chained to a BLACK WOMAN," which happened long before his political career even began.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — As a congressman in the 1990s, Bernie Sanders expressed an openness to making “adjustments” to the tax and benefit structure of Social Security. He also praised an overhaul of the social safety net program signed into law by President Ronald Reagan that reduced benefits and increased taxes on working families.

Sanders’ presidential campaign and allies have highlighted similar remarks by Joe Biden to attack the former vice president and make the explosive charge that Biden was an outspoken proponent of slashing the program.

Demagogues like wallace and trump are aware of people's fears, anxieties, and prejudices, and then exploit them for their own gain.

Good leaders, like Bernie, are also aware of what people are feeling. However rather then exploit people's fear and anxieties, good leaders will try to address them in a reasonable and compassionate way.
