Get real!

The media is trying way too hard to prove a sexual assault allegation on Joe Biden from 27 years ago. They should be ashamed to even bring it up.

I guess they just gave up on the 17 sexual allegations against Donald J Trump? It was just too tough for them to investigate.

Yes, but 17 wrongs do not make 1 right, seems to be their argument?

They should crawl in a hole and hide.

Even if it was true, it would be inappropriate to investigate at this time in the manner they are doing it. They act as if it is a buffet of some sort. Oh, that one is too hard. Let's investigate this one from 27 years ago and let the others slide. We'll pick the low-hanging fruit.

No, if you can't do your job and get to the bottom of the allegations against Donald Trump, get off Joe Biden's back. You are embarrassing yourselves.

Mike Pence is a chicken-shit coward.

He is afraid of Donald Trump. He is afraid that he may be called out in public. He is afraid to piss off Trump's base, who see the mask as surrendering to the "fake news" and the Democrats.

Trump has said publicly that he does not intend to wear a mask. He knows who is loyal to him by how many do not wear the mask. Pence would rather spread the virus than appear disloyal to his master.

He has no backbone.

Just like the Russia investigation, Trump wants Intel agencies to look at everything.

Not! We know he doesn't trust the Intel agencies, especially the CIA and the FBI. Except when they can offer political cover for him.

The White House has ordered US spy agencies to investigate whether China and the World Health Organization initially covered up what they knew about the nascent coronavirus pandemic, according to a new report.

A specific “tasking” seeking information about the emerging outbreak was sent last week to the National Security Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency, an official directly familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The CIA received similar instructions, current and former US officials told the network, which reported that the agencies were ordered to comb through a variety of data, including satellite photos and communication intercepts in the effort.

I used to read the front page of the Stars and Stripes...

...when I was in Vietnam. I would check to see how many Americans had been killed and whether there were any from back home or any that I might have gone thru training with?

They were usually able to get all the names on the bottom part of the page. The names were important to me. I was one of the lucky ones.

I was there from September of '67 until April of '69. I was there during Tet of '68. There were a lot of people killed.

It was traumatic for our country. They build a black, shiny wall in Washington to commemorate those that gave their lives. Almost every family was touched in one way or another by the Vietnam War. When it ended, there were more than 58,000 Americans killed.

In the last two months, there have been more people killed by the virus than were killed in Vietnam during the entire war. That is a shocking statistic for such a short time span. But, it is more than just a "statistic". These are people with families and loved ones, just like those that fought in Vietnam.

For me, it does help to keep the threat in perspective. It is not a hoax. It is not the flu. It is not a common cold. It is a pandemic with no vaccine and no cure. Nobody knows how many will die before it is over?

However, we do need to try and save as many lives as possible. It is not wise to shrug at threats to our humanity. It is a challenge to keep our country and our freedoms, at the same time we are fighting this deadly virus.

"We are very prepared to handle it." - Donald Trump

No, he's not!

He's not prepared to handle shit!

(That was his response when asked about the corona virus returning in the fall)

Where are the Barry Goldwater, John Rhodes, and Hugh Scott in the Republican Party?

<snip>
On Aug. 7, 1974, U.S. Sen. Barry Goldwater, R-Ariz., U.S. House Minority Leader John Rhodes, R-Ariz., and U.S. Senate Minority Leader Hugh Scott, R-Pa., made it clear to the embattled Nixon that he faced all-but-certain impeachment, conviction and removal from office in connection with the Watergate scandal.

Nixon announced his resignation the next evening, effective at noon on Aug 9, 1974.

Over the years, Goldwater, Rhodes and Scott have been lionized for their often exaggerated role in precipitating Nixon's exit.

In his 2006 book "Conservatives Without Conscience," former Watergate figure John W. Dean wrote that the Capitol Hill trio "traveled to the White House to tell Nixon it was time to resign." A Los Angeles Times headline over Rhodes' 2003 obituary recalled that the longtime representative from Mesa "helped persuade Nixon to resign." A 2007 Politico column recalled the episode as "When the GOP Torpedoed Nixon."

Actually, Goldwater, Rhodes and Scott did not try to persuade or urge Nixon to resign in their meeting in his "working office" in the Old Executive Office Building. They just confirmed to the doomed president the extent to which his support on the Hill had evaporated.
