Quixote1818's JournalFivethirtyeight: Bush's Problem is Jeb Bush
My colleague (and boss) Nate Silver believes Jeb Bush is probably toast. He isnt alone: A bunch of pundits are saying Bush is finished. Im not sure I would go that far; there is no clear front-runner in either the endorsement race (which Bush nominally leads) or the money race (which Bush also leads, if you count super PAC money). With the Republican field in such disarray, Im hesitant to predict anything with certainty.
But while I dont think Bushs demise is a fait accompli, I definitely agree that hes in serious trouble. Bush isnt going to win any primaries if his popularity among Republicans continues to plummet.
No candidates net favorability the share of Republicans who view a candidate favorably minus the share who view him or her negatively has fallen more than Bushs since mid-June, when Bush and Donald Trump entered the race. Here are all the candidates net favorability ratings over that span, in a chart we put together before Wednesdays Republican debate.

It needs to be asked. Is Ben Carson self-medicating?
This has been suggested several times inside threads and I think it needs its own thread. I was just listening to him in this video and he sounds high as a kite:
Really revealing comments from Jeb Bush in South Carolina
From Forward Progressive:
If this election is about how were going to fight to get nothing done, then I dont want any part of it, Bush said. I dont want to be elected president to sit around and see gridlock just become so dominant that people literally are in decline in their lives.
Ive got a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them, he continued. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call a political meltdown. Its clear that Trump has gotten under his skin and hes completely frustrated with the entire process. Thats what happens when you let crazy people take over your party. So at the end of the day, Bush can whine all he wants, but he only has the Republican party and conservative voters to blame for the rise of Trump and the madness thats seized the GOP.
I think these comments really put the final nail in the coffin of his campaign. Those are not words of a man many serious donors are going to get behind. With poll numbers that are almost certainly going to get worse, money that seems to be drying up and his candidacy becoming more and more irrelevant by the day I would be fairly surprised to see him stay in much longer unless something completely unexpected happens.

Does Hillary have a chance to take Arkansas or any other Southern states in the General?
I was just thinking that Bill, a Southerner, was pretty competitive in the South winning states like AR, LA, KY, TN, GA, FL etc. From what I have heard GA is shifting Blue and with AR being her home state we could see some southern states beyond the Carolina's turning blue again. Anyone with any in-depth knowledge of what is expected down there this time around?

Jeb Bush seems to have forgotten all of this. Donald Trump needs to hit him harder on his brothers failures.

4-year-old killed in road rage shooting
Source: ABC KOAT Channel 7 Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. A 4-year-old girl has died after she was shot during a road rage incident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 40.
A father, mother and child were in the car, but only the child was hit by the gunfire. Its unclear how many shots were fired.
An off-duty Bernalillo County deputy pulled over to help shortly after the shooting. At first he thought the child had fallen out of the car, but then he learned she'd been shot.
"This is a complete disrespect of human life. This is something that should not be happening in Albuquerque, New Mexico," APD Chief Gorden Eden said.
Police do not believe the family knew the shooter. Theyre calling it a road rage case.

The road rage incident was posted earlier but this is late breaking because the child has now passed away.
