Thankfully she went peacefully. She was 87 and had a long and full life. I don't wish to grieve but to celebrate her life.
As a young women she joined the local democratic club and eventually rose to be co-leader of that club. She became a state committee woman and served as state party co-chair as well as on the DNC. In her later years she sat on an advisory board to the state's department of elections and convinced them to adopt optical scan paper ballots so there would always be a paper trail in state elections.
Let her be an inspiration that one person can make a difference.
