3. So the dispute involved the Santa Monica station |
|
but Liu pulls AAR off the air in Chicago?
Not good on Mr. Liu's part if the petition for injunction is correct.
Also, it says about 5 times in the petition that there is no outstanding money owed to Liu.

You put quote around "deposit" like that means something.
Please explain.

Trying to be clever, but utterly failing to even get his "point" across.

Aparently the check that represented the deposit to Multicultural could not be deposited because funds were not available to cover. While the payments have been made to cover the airtime, the agreed upon money that Multicultural was to hold as backup is not there.
It will be curious to see if this will survive arbitration.

14. Air America stopped payment on the check |
|
Liu is acting in a fraudulent fashion by charging two broadcast content providers for leasing his station simultaneously at the LA station. Liu is in violation of the terms of the contract and cannot hold a hold a deposit for a contract he is already breeched.

11. I put the quote around "deposit..." |
|
Because according to Multicultural, it was (or is) a hot check.
I.E. NSF to cover. Whether true or not, I don't know

4. CNBC just had a little piece about this fracas.... |
|
The Headline thingy said "Air America Financial Trouble?"...
The talking head yapped about fledgling network in trouble? Liu yanking the signal due to non-payment...Air Amreica says Liu's actions were blah blah blah....
Not a WORD about the injunction, not a WORD about Liu's double-dipping....Bloody typical...

for any news organization to make the claim that AA is "in financial trouble." This could be a textbook case of libel.

Works for them, works for me.

13. Wonder if they were able to get in front of a judge |
|
before the end of the day?
On these emergency TRO's sometimes it is possible to get in front of a judge ASAP. They can even be granted without the other party's lawyer being present. At least for 24 or 48 hours or until a more extensive hearing can be held.
Hope they are back on in the morning.
