Gooood Friday Morning DU!
:donut: How is everyone so far? For those of you lucky enough to be off work on the weekends, you suck (kidding). Hope everyone has a great day and an even better weekend! I am good, finally went to the doctor only to find I have an upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, and ear infection. Yummy, huh? :)

1. Hope you feel better
These evil infections seem to be running wild in my class. So far I remain untouched, but with 25 students sneezing and coughing around me for six hours each day...

6. Best of luck in maintaining your health around school kids
I face the same problem as well. I teach high school, but so far my students have yet to be affected by much of anything.

Those maladies seem to be a way of life for me! I find that if I keep a window open at night, I have less trouble.

See, I'm not a big fan of bugs (or anything like them) so I'm not sure if I can do the open window thing (I know there's a screen, but still). Do you take anything for it?

5. I used to take Allegra which helped quite a bit.
But now I try to take only Tylenol Sinus or Tylenol Allergy Sinus. If I get an infection, then of course, I have to take an antibiotic. But during my long tenure as a teacher, I had to take them often. And this isn't good. If you can combat the crud at the beginning, it's better than resorting to antibiotics. After a while they begin to do a number on you, too.

The Allegra controlled the symptoms very well, but I have too many side effects...in particular--problems with salivary glands. They do dry one's mouth.

Have you taken Echinaceae...spelling? It's an herb which is good defense against respiratory infections. Take a look in the Vitamins and Minerals section of your grocery store and/or pharmacy.

I don't have any problems with bugs here even though I live in the woods in VA. Give it a try. I like my head cool while I sleep and the rest of me cozy!

Hope your day goes well.

7. Thank you!
I've been needing to visit the vitamin section anyway, so I'll look for that E word. He put me on Augmentin (spelling?) but I hate feeling like I have to depend on antibiotics.

And that's how I am when I sleep as well! I'll have the overhead fan going (but I haven't done that for the past week because I've been freezing at night) but I have like 3 comforters on. :) Not to mention the 5 pillows that are on my bed. I'm weird. :)

9. Eh, semi.
Just tired. I was up a lot last night with the stupid ear infection. He only gave me two perscriptions (he wanted to give me two shots and I was like, um, NO) but I'm sure I'll be fine.

How are you doing this morning?

12. All quiet here
the software upgrade (which interrupted us yesterday) went smooth as silk, but took about 3 hrs. I'll check the test set later and start running tests.

I was thinking of changing my user name to battle the freepers, trolls, intellectually deficient, DINO's, and high-count moles. I haven't decided yet. I may just leave it alone.

Do you get to leave early or is this your late day?

18. 3 hours is good!
most of that time is waiting. Most of the process has been automated, so the computer does the work. I don't have to type in commands like in the past. The installation manual used to be about 45 pages of entering commands and waiting. Now, it's about 16 pages of mostly checking, re-checking, and waiting.

What do you mean becoming? I've always been a flip-flopper: flipping off repubs and neo-cons and watching their idiotic arguments flop.

Oh, yeah, don't forget to drink much green tea. I just got a new box for work.

20. It's good
3 hours of waiting (with about 30 mins of real work) beats 4 hours of sitting at the keyboard and entering commands and waiting and entering more commands. Now, that the computer now does most of the work doesn't change the fact that there's...

no doughnut for you! :P

You gotta get better so you can go hiking or traveling or snuggling. ;-)

Now that you mention it, he lives in the far NW metro Atlanta area. That's about as close to TN one can live and still drive into town. I'd say that he's about a hour's drive from the office intown.

Neyland Stadium is one of the largest in the US. It's gotta be able to hold most of east TN during football season. LOL :D I'm a Georgia Tech fan and alum (Go Jackets!). NFL teams are Vikings (cousin's old team), Browns (parents hometown), Falcons (present hometown).

And yours...?

I can't stand some of the pricks in the NBA. I mean, the NFL has them too, but there's just something about some of the NBA teams that pisses me off. I don't care how great Michael Jordan supposedly is, point, he's old and he should retire.

That's no exageration. I know people (especially DJ's) with factors more. DJ Rod carries 3000 in two huge nylon carriers, but he's a club DJ. (Yes, the collection is insured.) Brenda and the Platinum K carry about 400, but they work bars and lounges.
