Toronto Sun: Tories fight back over Afghan detainee controversy
OTTAWA — Conservatives are fighting back over the Afghan detainee controversy, accusing Liberals of questioning the actions of Canadian troops in a flyer that will arrive in mailboxes this week.

The householder — known as a 10-per-center — highlights quotes from Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff and other Grit MPs — including one that suggests soldiers might have committed war crimes.

“The men and women of the Canadian Forces serve our country proudly each and every day. From Afghanistan to Haiti, our troops lead the way in helping to rebuild shattered societies and provide security. Sadly, Michael Ignatieff and the Liberal Party have questioned their actions in Afghanistan,” the flyer reads.

An internal Conservative memo obtained by QMI Agency said the householder aims to underscore a pattern of comments by senior Liberals that call into question the actions of Canadian soldiers.

1. Trying that excuse again, are they?
Hasn't worked before, why do they think it'll work now?

It's not the troops that are the problem, it's the govt.

2. Desperate, hiding behind soldiers again
I get lots of these ten percenters. I do a little culture jamming with a felt pen and send them back to where they came from. Right now, I like to remind the Harperites about prorogation.

3. It could be argued that they're demoralizing our troops.
I mean, what other effect is this unnamed Conservative strategist's comment going to have?:

“We think it’s important to let Canadians — especially those Canadians who serve our country daily in uniform — to know what’s being said about them.”

If that's what this ten-percenter is based on, I want to see what they're actually publishing.
