State Dept. Cautions on Travel to Iran

WASHINGTON - Americans were advised Thursday by the State Department to think hard before deciding to travel to Iran, especially along the border with Iraq.

U.S. citizens may be at risk of harassment or kidnapping, the department said in a travel warning.

Though urging Americans to "carefully consider" any planned travel there, the statement did not directly advise U.S. citizens to keep away from Iran under all circumstances.
