36. mental illness is not something someone can "claim"
in-depth examinations by psychiatrists as well as documented history of time spent in mental institutions, confrontations with law enforcement, bizarre and irrational behavior, etc. are all brought in as evidence.

no, murder is not a form of insanity and you sound glib to say so. It can be a cold calculated plan to change a situation, gain some money, get rid of somebody unwanted, etc. just because it is immoral and abhorent does not make it "insane."
