freedom fighter? Freedom fighters don't murder or torture their own people. Many like to quote that Marine General who, referring to the assault on Hue, said that we had to destroy the city in order to save it. A point that is missed is that we found mass graves in Hue in which the Vietcong had buried hundreds of people they had murdered when they controlled the city. People like teachers, civil servants, or those that were educated, found themselves the target of Vietcong assassins.

The war is wrong and we must bring our troops home ASAP. However, let us not delude ourselves into thinking that all of those that oppose our troops are some sort of freedom fighters. They are not! Many of them are nothing more than murderers and torturers that are trying to impose their extreme version of Islam by force on their fellow countrymen.
