45. Of Course This Christmas Season Will Be Great. Here's Why

1.) Short-term interest rates are still at historically low levels, and they've been that way for the past four years. The significance is that anyone can qualify for a credit card or some other debt instrument.

2.) This was an election year, so federal, state, and local governments have been hiring and doling out the cash in order to get re-elected this year.

End result is that the economy is flushed with cash, borrowed cash, but cash nonetheless. This will be the last good Christmas for a long, long time to come.
