Add at LEAST 10% to that. There's no way it's as low as 7%. I'm here in Dallas and the stores have been consistenly half-empty when last year you couldn't park your car ANYWHERE (it got so bad people had family members simply drop them off and come back later to pick them up, like a cab service, to avoid parking altogether).

There are a LOT of bush voters here which tells me this is not just the result of Kerry voter boycotting. Everyone seems to be worried, and I know too many people who are due to be laid off in Jan and Feb. There's no way they're going out and charging up the credit cards right before they are getting laid off!

Interesting, isn't it, that * gets re-elected (ahem, sort of) and then we have totally crappy Christmas retail sales?
