and they are still showing it, just not all the time.

I know in my gut that race is an issue here, but I am at a loss to prove it. I am afraid that civil rights legislation has served only to throw a cloth over racism. Now the racists use coded language and are much more surreptitious about their racism. It makes it so much harder to prove when it is deliberately occulted.

We DO need true equality in this country. NO ripped that cover off and showed what scars and open woulnds still remain in this country. It was undeniable.

But poor people......that angle CAN be proven by just about everyting the Republican party has done in the last 25 years. Republicans HATE the poor...there is no doubt about it because the Republicans still feel safe in being obvious about their hatred towards the poor.

Almost to a man, the Republicans will claim to not be racist, all the while failing to acknowledge that their policies are inherently bigoted.
