Yeah, really makes you wonder how people would react if...

... your 45-year-old plumber called up one day and asked your 8-year-old son to his house for a sleepover in his bed. Would that be okay? Would you consider this appropriate behavior because he's such a good plumber? Because he gave money to local charities?

... your 45-year-old dentist started showering your kid with presents, buying your family a new car on a whim, then taking your son to DisneyWorld where they shared a room while Mom & Dad had another room. This would be just fine because he such a great guy and besides, your daugther got new braces for free. How could you begrudge that man your son's company, right?

... your 45-year-old neighbor down the block was so fond of your son that he wanted him to sleepover nights and bring his pajamas. Isn't that sweet? Hell, he mows your grass for free so how could you possibly refuse?

There is no "innocent" explanation for grown men having sleepovers with young children. It's a sign of severe emotional disturbance that they would even WANT to do that, regardless of whether or not anything "happens."

Small children need to be protected, and that means erring on the side of caution. And if that means Michael Jackson spends the night alone, with no children in his bed, so be it.
