2. I'm hoping Bloomberg is just emiting egotistic blather in the tradition of Donald Trump

when he toyed with the media, saying that he was considering a run for the White House in 2000. (Remember, he said he'd have Oprah as a running mate?)

If he isn't running or angling for a VP slot, then I guess maybe he wants to hold the position of king-maker by being a "player" and throwing his support at whomever would give him the best benefits in the event of winning the election.
