5. Totalitarian movement
It is as simple as that. The lies are told in the imperative. They are the "bullet points" used to justify arbitrary rule and governance by force and intimidation. Their veracity is immaterial. They said they were going to lie at the outset and they're doing it. Their end, their enhanced power and profits at the expense of the people (labeled as liberals, whiners, terrorist supporters, and other negative types), justifies the means.

The corporate infrastructure including the media make it clear that they will support the lies, while they are given license to siphon off every last dollar in outrageous government handouts, tax cuts, rebates, and subsidies, restrictions on consumer rights, rate increases, deregulation and other forms of abuse of the public. Those who object or contradict will be publicly vilified if not worse.

The brazen lies are already known to be false on the basis of published and corraborated reports. They don't need to be refuted. Most by now, already know they are false. The government reprisals and gag orders, the anthrax attacks, the intentionally poorly disguised torture and murders, the belligerent invasions and arbitrary slaughter, the full spectrum Gulag which now threatens the very basis of our system of law, are all designed to terrorize and silence the domestic audience as well as the foriegn victims.

To the mass followers of the totalitarian mind, the profiteers, the corporate lackies, and the "marketing" experts who all imagine themselves part of the "movement," in their infinite capacity for self delusion and self importance, there is no need for "checks and balances," or the Bill of Rights, "because everything changed after 911." This in fact, gives them license not to know what they are talking about, as long as they mimic their leaders. This makes them realists in the struggle for survival. This makes them fascists without the slightest insight into what they are. Those who contradict the state are "paranoids" who believe in "black helocopters" and who don't trust their own leaders. What cause could they have not to trust their leaders? They must be unpatriotic citizens of corrupt character and unsound minds.

Where has the world heard all of this before? This regime has gone utterly and completely fascist. The question is whether the rest of society's institutions are going to join the obscurantist mass movement and follow them over the cliff into oblivion.
