Janeane had said that liberalism gave us the civil
rights act, and Boortz had come back with the assertion
that the Democrats had fought it.

Al asked him "what Democrats?" and nailed him with
the fact that it was Thurmond and other Dixiecrats
who eventually switched to the Republican party.

Boortz was so flummoxed he got mad and hung up.

"Don't play Al Franken gotcha word games with me. I'm
on the road on a cell phone and I don't drive
when I'm on the phone because I'm a safe driver."
