Oh, what the hell!

But these fundies are as rigid as are others. They condemn UN objectives for not envisioning doing 100% good. The thing is that the UN objectives, and other sets of practical objectives (like Healthy People 2010) set up practical guidelines with timelines for achievement. The sentiment behind such plans of course includes the idea that it would be good to wipe out problems 100% -- but the practicality behind the plans acknowledges that problems can only be attacked a step at a time, and that it is better to have a measurable objective that can be reached than only a nebulous goal that cannot be.
