I should say that on another but related topic, I live in "blue" New York City, and there are Larry Northern types here as well. Archie Bunker was not a myth, in fact Archie Bunker was mild compared to some people I've known. I think the right-wing wants to divide America into the "blue" and the "red", I think it benefits them.

There is a blue and a red divide, but not the one mentioned so much through the corporate media. CNN's national exit polls in 2004

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/states/US/P/00/epolls.0.html

show that voters who "earned" $200k or more favored Bush 63%-35%. Of course, most of those $200k+ people didn't earn their money in a true sense by wages and salary, but by parasitism like interest, rent and especially profit. Then there's the $150-200k crowd, for Bush by 58%-42%. $100-$150K, Bush 57%-42%. These are the "red" income brackets - the REAL red/blue split.

Then we go into the blue income brackets Under $15k income is 63% Kerry, 36% Bush. $15-30k is 57% Kerry, 42% Bush. At the $30-50k range, Bush and Kerry are running neck and neck.

I live in a so-called "blue state" and have a "blue income", and know lots of people in so-called "red states" who have "blue incomes" as well and they're great people. So I'm not going to call this guy a hick, or a redneck or whatever and play into the whole trap set for us. I'll cast my lot with the miners in West Virginia and the Teamsters in Missouri any day of the week. This guy has a "red income" mentality no matter what state he's from. And as I said before, most of the $200k+ people didn't even earn their money anyhow, they probably inherited the divine right to profit off others labor like Paris Hilton.
