16. A true saying!
My family did not have much when I was growing up. In fact, we had government subsidized foot for awhile (what you got in the days before food stamps). In first grade, I lived in a house with a well, a hand pump in the kitchen sink, and an outhouse. We took baths in the wash tub, in the kitchen in the winter times and in the yard in the summer. Yet one of the lessons my parents taught me went something like this: There will always be people who have more than you, and there were always be people with less than you. Your responsibility is not to focus on those with more, but to reach out and help those with less. My parents not only told us that, but taught us that by example time and time again.
