Texas DUers, a word from someone outside of Texas

The reason there are so many jokes about Texas is the self-importance the people of the state give us.

"Don't Mess With Texas."
"G-d Bless Texas."
"Texas is home of REAL Cowboys."

Texans (and I know alot of Texans) wrap themselves in the Lone Star flag and rip apart most states that touch it.

"Yeah, Oklahoma is good, but Texas is the greatest."

People, on the left, are frustrated with the mind-set of a state that allows political snake-oil salesmen to win election after election <Bush, Perry, DeLay, Gramm, Cornyn, etc> then wonder why Houston's air is the most polluted in the country, there are little worker's protections, few consumer protection laws and a near-police state.

I live in Arizona. . .it's the same, but we don't have the arrogant bravado of Texas.

With that said, G-d help all of you on the Texas Gulf Coast because Rita will make Katrina look small, in my opinion.

Meterology is a hobby of mine. . .I know the inter-workings of a hurricance and Rita looks like it will be worse because it will be over more warm water than Katrina was. G-d help you all.
