- In my most humble opinion...there is nothing more 'immoral' than a politician hiding behind religion to escape responsibility for his actions. Adopting the mantle of a humble, 'God-fearing' man, Bush* has implied that God is giving him 'guidance' in his war against everything evil.
- George* once said that he 'believes' God wanted him to become president. (After waking up from a decades-long drunken haze). Many Republicans have implied the same thing...including a general in charge of 'democratizing' Iraq and the zealot attorney general and loser of an election to a dead man, John Ashcroft.
- This is much more than a 'leap of faith'. It's asking us to believe that Bush* and many so-called 'God-fearing' Republicans have some sort of 'connection' to God that the rest of us aren't 'righteous' enough to comprehend. Have they 'communicated' with God or seen 'signs' that lead them to believe Bush* was chosen by God to lead this country during these difficult times? Or are they simply using God and religion to appeal to their fundamentalist followers?
- GWB* provides a perfect example of why the Founders erected a 'wall of separation' between church and state. They knew from their experiences with the 'Motherland' that it was impossible to enjoy 'religious freedom' when the church and state acted as one to promote a dominant or state religion.
- Does George* have some sort of special communication with God or is he delusional? I submit that he's using God...as he did 9-11...for his own political advantage, to give himself the 'divine right of kings' and put himself above the law.
