53. Oh well, if you insist <g>
These are from the Senate ASC testimony, 9/23/02.

This first one is where Clark tells a hostile Senator Sessions of AL that the use of force should be the "ultimate last resort" and that you don't spill American blood just because you're frustrated with how slowly international institutions and the governments of allies.

And just for fun, this one is where Clark talks about how important it is to have the POLITICAL plan worked out before you ever start a military operation. Gee... doesn't that sound like something so many have all been asking about recently?

Don't have video of the House ASC testimony of 9/26/02, but here's what Perle had to say about Clark's testimony. After he'd left the room of course. Repubs can be gutless when it comes to facing men and women of real courage.

Clark "seems to be preoccupied—and I am quoting now—with building legitimacy, with exhausting all diplomatic remedies as though we hadn't been in diplomacy in the last decade, relegating the use of force as a last resort, to building the biggest coalition; in short, a variety of very amorphous ephemeral concerns... So, I think General Clark doesn't want to see us use military force, and he has thrown out as many reasons as he can to develop for that, but the bottom line is he just doesn't want to take action. He wants to wait."
