9. David and Bathsheba had an affair which

God chastized him for, but David was still a man after God's own heart. The implication, I believe is from human speculation in more recent times. For instance now we are suspicious if two women or two men go on vacation together. I never found any scripture supporting the homosexual angle as God had made it clear with the destruction of the two cities of sodomites that he didn't make man for man. He made woman for man. He would have chastized David just as he did for displeasing him with Bathsheba.

The verses from 2 Samuel chapter 1 may have led to the rumor about David and Jonathan who David loved like a brother.

2Sa 1:22 From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.

2Sa 1:23 Saul and Jonathan lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.

2Sa 1:24 Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.

2Sa 1:25 How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, slain in thine high places.

2Sa 1:26 I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

2Sa 1:27 How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!
