Nor can charges made without evidence behind them be of use in swaying the public on this matter.

A legitimate petion for recount in Ohio would be of use. So would documentation concerning machines and procedures there, and witnesses to activities of various county officials. There could well have been skullduggery after the votes were cast, and anything that actually could work to cloud the legitimacy of this election in the popular mind, as opposed to the activist mind, would be very much to the good.

Most of the damage was done, though, before the votes were cast, by suppression of registration, intimidating anouncements, and inadequate provision of equipment and supplies. These things are impossible to rectify afterwards, unfortunately. But it would be useful indeed, for next time, to nail down as many facts about them as possible, and cook up some possible pre-emptive remedies.
