sign up as an adult, freely, of his own volition. This may fall under the category of very hard and very valuable life lesson learned.
What is it he dislikes about the Navy? Everything? Tedious drone work? The concept of being involved in war?
I have no desire to see your son harmed as a result of his involvement with the military (spent over a decade in the Navy myself), although if he is not a hospital corpsman supporting Marines I would think he'd be unlikely to be in danger in this war.
