What You Should Really Fear About Fundies
Advertisements [?]
Inevitably, the fundies will grow increasingly more and more frustrated in their attempts to remake America into a complete Christian nation. They'll probably make abortion illegal, but they won't stop women from going to Canada to get the procedure done. They'll have stricter FCC rules regulating content on the broadcast media, but they'll be powerless over the content on the internet and premium cable television. They'll get prayer back into schools, but it won't be a strictly Christian prayer, more like a generic moment of silence. IOW, the world is too complex, too diverse, too modern to overhaul everything that they want to do.

Thus, a new generation of fundies will emerge demanding more and more. They will get even more aggressive in their demands. They will eventually break free from their Republican corporate masters and take full control of the party. They will seek a constitutional amendment demanding that Christianity, their brand of Christianity, become America's national religion. They will seek to over-haul education in this country, demanding that it reflect their views.

IOW, the fundies will not stop until they get complete control of America and all of its institutions.
