BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A judge refused again Thursday to release Waterbury Mayor Philip Giordano on bond while he awaits trial on federal charges involving sex with minors.
U.S. District Judge Alan Nevas ruled Giordano was both a flight risk and a danger to the community.
Giordano has been jailed since his July 26 arrest. He pleaded innocent in September to a 14-count indictment charging him with violating the civil rights of two children under age 12 by forcing them to engage in sexual acts with him. He also faces state charges.
