to Rumsfeld as a way to protect his "legacy" at the end of 2008?

I'm surprised that Cheney hasn't come to Don's rescue/ I always thought that Cheney would eventually side with Rumsfeld over * since Rumsfeld bascially made Cheney who he is today during their days in the Nixon/Ford administrations.
