into their churches by right-wing fascists. The first was during the turn of the last century, when business interests hired preachers to organize anti-labor sentiments in the churches. The second started in the 1970s along side of the creation of the right-wing foundations, and it's been covered pretty extensively here on DU.
There have been a number of fudies like this guy speaking against it the entire time, but they don't have the big bucks like GOP operatives Falwell, Robertston, etc. have.
They took over the SBC and many of the evangelical and fundamentalist churches, but they really grew when they built "indepedent, non-denominational mega-churches".
