The plot looks like % flu deaths by week.

I am also unable to locate the source of your assertion "713 deaths" last week.

I've followed your instructions "sidebar link to 'references & resources',,, then the MMWR articles Page 23 of the first PDF file, the FLU report...shows 713 DEATHS last week from P&I (last column on spreadsheet) P&I footnote: Pneumonia and Flu"

Is your source the MMWR weekly for Dec. 24, 2004?
