1. Umm, he lived there, not RC, the church didn't send him.
Talk about reflexively attacking the catholic church when you are almost completely ignorant of the facts. He was not a Roman catholic biship, he was a bishop in the syrian church (they throw around titles like "archbishop" a lot). He was kidnapped in front of his own church. he lived there.
