I have not seen any realistic and workable strategy for a Democrat to win the White House without winning some states in the South. There are too many electoral votes in it. And the republicans have to be forced to spend resources in it.

I would say Florida of course, then Louisiana, Arkansas and Georgia.

As far as the rest we have to try to win what we can win. In Texas we should focus on electing a conservative Democrat to the US Senate. I'd rather have that then two Republicans. You look at Oklahoma, where the conservative Dem almost won. Wouldn't we rather have that then the republican we have from there?
