137. I've caught myself several times chuckling about the irony of ....
....of the choice of the name "Gannon."

We've certainly had several folk post about the Editor of the Des Moines Register and the fact that Ms Gosch has indicated that he suppressed the information flow regarding her son's kidnapping.

And, as many of you know, the name of that Editor is James Gannon.

The cause for the repeated chuckle is what might be an elegant use of irony, i.e., when Guckert decided to be "a journalist" he took the name of a "real journalist": not just any name, and not just any name of known journalists.

A person with no discernable past prior to 1980, and perhaps a multiply 'revised' past since then, chooses 'Gannon' from thousands and thousands of potential names, when he decides its time for him to stroll into the White House Press room and start asking the President of the USA 'questions.'

Guckert, you're a clever, funny guy.

By the way, James Gannon is still publishing:

An interesting piece of advice he gives to Bush:

"The reason official Washington seems so out of touch and distant from the American people is that the government is, well, out of touch and distant. For years, I have believed that there is a simple solution to this problem: Bust up and disperse the federal government."

Peace.
