1. Email "pages" of interesting articles to people you know.
They'll invariably be from the alternet, and those "publication's" servers will get more and more hits. It'll propagate like crazy. I think there is also a problem in that most peeps still use AOL and Compuserve to access the net which is like never hitting the web at all. Most people 50 and older have no idea how to surf the internet.
