As a Wiccan and The fact that my step mother and father are both police officers I have a very strong interest in this. As a member of the Navy I have had quite a few instances where my religion was brought up and I have been harassed a bit for it, mostly questions like the phone call you received about the virgins. Luckily now I actually work with the Religious ministries department on board my ship and they are very respectful, and I get time in the chapel for my own worship.
