Pictures of Gas Madness on Long Island (pic heavy) [View All]

The gas prices have taken off on Long Island. One station was at 2.99 when I went to work and 3.25 when I got back. Here are some pictures and a story. Feel free to use these pictures. Let me know if you have unlimited bandwidth.

This first station is one of the two cheap stations in the area. It's charging 2.79 for the cheap stuff. It was 2.59 at 10 in the morning. They claim that they ran out of gas and then got a shipment. This place had long lines day and night.


This Citgo is exactly accross the street and almost no one is there. They were charging 2.99.


This picture is from a gas station a half mile down (Newbridge and Merrick Rd). They ran out of gas around 7pm.



This is the "cheap" gas place. They are always one of the cheapest. I went in and asked why prices were so high. The guy said that they get the leftovers of what the big companies have. He said that there are no left overs so his prices are through the roof. He says that the big boys might be shutting him down this way by not giving him cheap gas.


Someone put in what they could afford.


This station was accross the street. They were charging $2.79. The lines were long. This is on Merrick Rd. @ Meadowbrook Pkwy.



These last two are from "Gas Sale." Yeah right. They ran out of regular. Better get used to it.
