36. I'm a paralegal, and most
bankruptcy attorneys who represent debtors, at least the ones I know, are not going to accept any new cases after Monday; once the cases they have that were filed prior to the implementation of the new laws are all taken care of, they're going to either quit law entirely or go into another practice area.

This is because one of the most ridiculous provisions of the new draconian laws, which are really the 21st century's version of indentured servitude, requires debtor's attorneys to be legally liable for the financial information their clients list on their bankruptcy petitions. That is such bullshit in so many ways, it's hard to know where to begin. It's just another way to screw debtors, since most attorneys aren't going to assume that liability, and why should they? The really infuriating thing about it is that the law doesn't require the same thing from creditor's attorneys, not at all. And creditors lie, that's a given.
