12. Long Island is joining Westchester in the world of blue NYC Suburbs
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 12:29 AM by Ignacio Upton
Rockland County stabbed us in the back by voting for Bush last year, and Putnam, Orange, and Dutchess are still Freeper country populated by a vocal and surprisingly strong minority of Progressives. I think that Putnam and Dutchess will eventually become Democratic, but only slowly.
Spano won re-election, and Idoni won County Clerk. Sadly, Jeanine Pirro's protege Janet DiFiore won the DA race. However, The Democratic candidate, Tony Castro, was not a very good one. He got hammered on the fact that he failed his bar exam several times in both New York and Massachusetts, and the New York Times endorsed DiFiore (she was only one of two other Republicans besides Bloomberg to get their endorsement, which when they announced it, told me that Castro was dead.)
