Bush got the war he wanted. If the immediate aftermath had been conducted even marginally competently then Bush would be a hero today and he could push though his crappy domestic agenda and his so-called "legacy" would be secure. It really all went down the (aluminum) tubes with the looting. Bush himself in his speech said that his "conduct" of the war could be legitimately questioned.
This is what happens when you don't listen to your generals and are pre-occupied with riding your bike, vacationing, and cutting brush while the world goes to hell around you.
