9. The great irony of the so-called "War on Christmas"
Is that it has turned the "Merry Christmas" people into a pack of nasty, black-hearted assholes in a season that is meant for joy, celebration, peace on earth and good will towards all people. They hiss "Merry Christmas" at you through clenched teeth, their faces red with rage - they could only mean the opposite, that you should die and suffer the pains of hell for your secularization of their joyful celebration! They refuse to tip waitresses who don't follow lockstep in their absurd little rituals. They hurl invective, full of bile. They fall ass over teakettle to insult, deride, chastise, inveigh. They pound tables, sneer at salespeople, erupt into rants, devolve into apoplexia. What a mockery they make of their own religion, these dogmatic huffers of good tidings. What a disgrace they make of their own season of joy, with their hateful, enraged disgruntlement.
