Republican Gubernatorial Wins: License to Redistrict?!?
Advertisements [?]
I feel for my fellow Democrats smarting over the losses in the Kentucky and Mississippi gubernatorial races, but has anyone thought about what Republican governors might be doing shortly?

Are the Kentucky and Mississippi state legislatures Republican-controlled? If so, surviving Democratic congressional representatives had better watch out. The obstacles to Banana Republicanism--Southern Style have been removed. What happened in Texas and Colorado can happen to them, and they can have their districts jerrymandered out from under them.

This election, like the ones for the last ten years, again emphasize the importance of voting not just for picking the guys in the top slots, but the rest of the down-list races as well.
