Candidate best positioned to expose Bush is Kerry...

Senator Kerry has an inside line on the history of Bush mob crimes. He chaired or was on committees that investigated CIA/Contra-Drugs, October Surprise, and the banking scandals (S&L, BCCI). The Contra-Drugs report really has a lot of excellent dirt in it (with the fig leaf of an introduction that belies the actual story inside).

That makes him quite the expert in this area, and presumably he was able to gather inside information to which we mere mortals are not privy. (I would guess he started this collection in part with the presidency in mind.)

This material relates mostly to Papa Bush, but it would also rub off nicely on at least Neil and Jeb, and it would be great to see Junior forced to take a stance on his father's dealings. (If nothing else Papa Bush is a known White House adviser, to this day.)

Then there are two additional, speculative items: Kerry is married to the widow of John Heinz III, a liberal Republican who had also investigated Bush (the banking side) and was considering a shot for the presidency in 1992 before he, um, crashed in an, um, unfortunate plane accident. Does Teresa also have some inside dope? There is also the matter of knowledge Kerry may have by virtue of membership in Skull & Bones (same brotherhood as Bush). To all appearances from the outside, S&B seems to be a kind of mutual-blackmail society for the advancement of its members. (S&B may be one reason Kerry keeps quiet, of course, or it may be a complete red herring.)

Finally, though I don't support Kerry in the primaries (because of his votes on IWR, PATRIOT, Homeland Security and now the 87 billion), I do think that he leads the pack intellectually. Very smart and witty man, one who seems to have a firm grasp of the system and how it works, of history and how it is made. And he's got an excellent political pedigree - I mean, also as an activist at the grass roots, before he became a politician. (Something I don't think any of the others can match.) I bet he would have the easiest time in a debate with Bush, at least based on the rules of debate (although he might be judged the loser anyway, due to emotional factors).

So....

Why isn't Kerry using any of his special ammo on Bush?

Why has his campaign degenerated to Bash-Dean? (The more he hits Dean, the more he shows his frustration at his campaign's failure so far, the more he acquires a loser's image.)

Is Kerry waiting for the nomination? He won't be getting there, the way he's running things atm.

Is he feeling too compromised by his pro-Bush votes?

Or will he use his special knowledge of the Bush crimes only as a secret extortionate mass, i.e., to protect himself, but not as anything to take to the public?

Or is he a happy member of the elites, who would never be so crass as to betray ugly secrets about the Bushes?

Have at it.
